Liam Le Guillou
Liam Le Guillou is a British-born director and cinematographer, shooting documentaries and commercial projects around the world. He now lives in Los Angeles, California.
Liam is most notably known for his documentary work – Including the recently released true crime film – An Unknown Compelling Force – The true story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident. (Written, Produced and directed by Liam Le Guillou - Distributed by 1091 Pictures)
Liam began his career in television news and documentary in 2001 in the British Channel Island of Jersey, where he worked for ITV’s regional news station, as a cameraman, editor and later documentary producer.
In 2004 he co-founded the successful production company, Spike Productions, which produced award winning commercial projects and documentaries. The company was listed in the UK’s top 50 Corporate and Commercial Production Companies.
In 2011 Liam sold up and moved to New York, where he quickly found success as a documentary filmmaker for some of the worlds largest brands and digital platforms. He has directed and shot multi-episode documentaries for Guinness World Records - Beyond the Record (5x 15mins), which has had more than 17million views online, and the Webby award winning Style Out There for Refinery29 (5x 15mins) , with more than 15million views.
In addition to writing and directing documentary, Liam is an accomplished cinematographer, shooting the majority of his documentary work. Recent projects include the multi-award winning SnapChat Original Series, “While Black”, hosted by MK Asante. Recent narrative film projects filmed by Liam include the multi award winning film "Painless" and the Manhattan Film Festival Winner "Dutch Kills".
In the commercial space Liam has a great deal of experience with fashion and beauty brands having filmed and directed a wide range commercial projects for brands such as; Revlon, CoverGirl, L'oreal, Mercedes AMG, Motorola, Samsung, Clinique, JĀSÖN Beauty and many more.
As a huge true-crime and mystery film fan, Liam is currently developing two new documentaries in the genre; stay tuned for future announcements of upcoming projects.
